Thursday morning

Good morning all.  Tragedy, I have dropped to 5th place overnight while other parts of the world have been awake.  I guess I will have to put some effort in to regain my status.  I took a screenshot


to show you what it is like.  Sometimes it speaks a sentence and you have to select the correct words from the list given.

Yesterday I learned some very useful phrases like "the cook hits the drunk parrot" I'm sure it will come in handy some time!  This puts me in mind of an occasion when my Mum got craved up in the car which really scared her and her response was to yell "che Dio ti raddrizzi la parrucca" which translates to "may god straighten your wig" I queried why she said this and it was because I was in the car and she didn't want to swear in front of me but to an English ear it sounds terrible and the other driver was stunned.  So who knows when drunk parrots may be useful.

We are having a fry up for lunch today with chipolatas and black pudding nice easy cooking and about right as it is cold and dull but as yet dry.

Well, that's about my lot I need to get on with the Latin and try to regain my position.  Be careful the covid is on the rise so please stay safe.

Friday morning

 Good morning all it’s a frosty cold but sunny day in fact a proper winters day. Tomorrow there will be rugby to watch.  I must admit I haven’t watched any of the Winter Olympics it’s not my thing.  I must admit I have never fancied skiing I can fall over on carpet. My tripe arrives today and I have made the mirepoix ready so just some simmering to do.   I think I might use the slow cooker the hopefully it will be ready for supper. Well my cup is empty and I hear the shower calling so time to get on.  I will be staying in the warm and playing in the kitchen.  Have a good day and stay warm.

Thursday morning

Good morning all well it is raining which is kind of par for the course.  This week has been one to forget as soon a possible.  Yesterday should have been a good day and despite feeling rubbish, I pushed on and got things organised for Shiona's visit.  So you can imagine how delighted I was when she didn't turn up.  She forgot.  So the boys and I had a nice lunch and I then took to my room and watched a lecture by Jordan Peterson which took my mind off my disappointment.  It is reassuring to hear someone of such intellect say that life is hard and nasty.  His latest book "12 rules for life an antidote to chaos" is a book that I have read once and I still pick up and reread the odd chapter when chaos is looming. So today I will be cooking the quails for lunch as the three of us will be here but as yet I haven't decided what to do with them.  I quite fancy Gnocchi Alla Romana but if I want them I will have to get a move on as the polenta has to...
