Monday morning

Good morning all, at the moment it’s bright and sunny but it is not supposed to last.  It’s funny but dawn is often gorgeous then the day goes downhill thereafter.  I expect there’s some good reason why but for me it is one of life’s mysteries.  I’m sorry to say I am still feeling pretty awful and have every intention of making an appointment with the doctors on Tuesday.  I guess it will just be a case of hanging on the phone for hours but I will persevere as I really think I need some help.

The boys are being brilliant and taking good care of me, and you will be pleased to know that Dan’s “willy” problem is resolved.  The magic cream has done its trick and it has completely healed.  I looked at the ingredients and it is antibiotic and steroid cream so should cure anything.

Sorry I have little to tell you but being confined to bed is very dull.  Fortunately I have a door open to outside so I am enjoying the good weather as best I can.  Let’s hope the rain stays away for a good few hours yet.  Have a good day.

    It's clouding over here too - most depressing really.
    Fingers crossed that a day's rest helps and thast the surgery plays ball and gives you a quick appointment.

Friday morning

 Good morning all it’s a frosty cold but sunny day in fact a proper winters day. Tomorrow there will be rugby to watch.  I must admit I haven’t watched any of the Winter Olympics it’s not my thing.  I must admit I have never fancied skiing I can fall over on carpet. My tripe arrives today and I have made the mirepoix ready so just some simmering to do.   I think I might use the slow cooker the hopefully it will be ready for supper. Well my cup is empty and I hear the shower calling so time to get on.  I will be staying in the warm and playing in the kitchen.  Have a good day and stay warm.

Thursday morning

Good morning all well it is raining which is kind of par for the course.  This week has been one to forget as soon a possible.  Yesterday should have been a good day and despite feeling rubbish, I pushed on and got things organised for Shiona's visit.  So you can imagine how delighted I was when she didn't turn up.  She forgot.  So the boys and I had a nice lunch and I then took to my room and watched a lecture by Jordan Peterson which took my mind off my disappointment.  It is reassuring to hear someone of such intellect say that life is hard and nasty.  His latest book "12 rules for life an antidote to chaos" is a book that I have read once and I still pick up and reread the odd chapter when chaos is looming. So today I will be cooking the quails for lunch as the three of us will be here but as yet I haven't decided what to do with them.  I quite fancy Gnocchi Alla Romana but if I want them I will have to get a move on as the polenta has to...
