Tuesday Morning

Good morning all it is a lovely sunny day today but I believe it is not to last so I must make the most of it while it lasts.  Dennie is here already so I am finding it difficult to write and carry on a conversation at the same time, talk about multitasking, so if I write garbage you will understand.  

The rat man didn't come yesterday but he is coming today so that will be a weight off my mind.  James is just popping up to the shops so he is going to get us some pasties for lunch which will save me cooking so all I will need to do is make an accompanying salad.  Then I will need to make something sensible for supper, though I can't for the life of me think what.  I don't think I can face chicken again so perhaps some fish from the fishmonger.  I think I need to put in an order for some meat to fill the freezer again as we seem to have gone through the last lot.

Well sorry, I am going to keep this short as it is so difficult to write and talk at the same time.  I had one interesting experience yesterday when I went to have my shower I couldn't find the shampoo so ended up washing my hair with Magicoat dog shampoo and you should see the shine on my hair it has done a lovely job.

    I have also found on occasion that washing up liquid works very well. I reckon all these products have the same basic ingredients, the main differences being the various additives, depending on the customers being targeted. A lot of companies would go out of business if word got around that one basic product could do everything!

    Yes it is sodium lauryl sulphate it is in everything. I know because my Dad was allergic and finding a shampoo without is very difficult. I have used washing up liquid and also fabric conditioner all worked fine but I can recommend the dog shampoo.

Friday morning

 Good morning all it’s a frosty cold but sunny day in fact a proper winters day. Tomorrow there will be rugby to watch.  I must admit I haven’t watched any of the Winter Olympics it’s not my thing.  I must admit I have never fancied skiing I can fall over on carpet. My tripe arrives today and I have made the mirepoix ready so just some simmering to do.   I think I might use the slow cooker the hopefully it will be ready for supper. Well my cup is empty and I hear the shower calling so time to get on.  I will be staying in the warm and playing in the kitchen.  Have a good day and stay warm.

Thursday morning

Good morning all well it is raining which is kind of par for the course.  This week has been one to forget as soon a possible.  Yesterday should have been a good day and despite feeling rubbish, I pushed on and got things organised for Shiona's visit.  So you can imagine how delighted I was when she didn't turn up.  She forgot.  So the boys and I had a nice lunch and I then took to my room and watched a lecture by Jordan Peterson which took my mind off my disappointment.  It is reassuring to hear someone of such intellect say that life is hard and nasty.  His latest book "12 rules for life an antidote to chaos" is a book that I have read once and I still pick up and reread the odd chapter when chaos is looming. So today I will be cooking the quails for lunch as the three of us will be here but as yet I haven't decided what to do with them.  I quite fancy Gnocchi Alla Romana but if I want them I will have to get a move on as the polenta has to...
