Saturday morning

 Good morning all.  It’s a bit of a nothing day but we are forecast lots of rain later. 


All pinned and wetted, I must say that once dry I iron the edges to remove the marks left by the ring.  Now what do I do with it?

I have nothing planned for the day but yesterday I watched the whole of the first series of Picard which Denzil had on his old phone.  As his new phone finally arrived he has lent me the old one to chrome cast to my TV. I have no idea how he has got all these good programs and I am not asking it is some kind if internet magic which is beyond my comprehension.

Ok so have a good day and Joy you will be pleased that your knitted nativity has pride of place in Margaret’s home she was so delighted with it.

    You really seem to be in to this embroidery thing. And they're all so pretty. Well done!

    I have had to do some sewing over the last two weeks, as my wonderful Lynda decided the curtains all had to come down and be washed, and as they shrink a bit every time I wash them I have had to unpick all the hems and do them again. But at least she does the ironing and gets up on the stepladder to take them down and put them up again. How lucky am I! I seriously don't know what I would do without her.

    Apart from that, wind, rain, cold and lockdown! A dismal prospect for Christmas, but at least we are alive and well.

Friday morning

 Good morning all it’s a frosty cold but sunny day in fact a proper winters day. Tomorrow there will be rugby to watch.  I must admit I haven’t watched any of the Winter Olympics it’s not my thing.  I must admit I have never fancied skiing I can fall over on carpet. My tripe arrives today and I have made the mirepoix ready so just some simmering to do.   I think I might use the slow cooker the hopefully it will be ready for supper. Well my cup is empty and I hear the shower calling so time to get on.  I will be staying in the warm and playing in the kitchen.  Have a good day and stay warm.

Thursday morning

Good morning all well it is raining which is kind of par for the course.  This week has been one to forget as soon a possible.  Yesterday should have been a good day and despite feeling rubbish, I pushed on and got things organised for Shiona's visit.  So you can imagine how delighted I was when she didn't turn up.  She forgot.  So the boys and I had a nice lunch and I then took to my room and watched a lecture by Jordan Peterson which took my mind off my disappointment.  It is reassuring to hear someone of such intellect say that life is hard and nasty.  His latest book "12 rules for life an antidote to chaos" is a book that I have read once and I still pick up and reread the odd chapter when chaos is looming. So today I will be cooking the quails for lunch as the three of us will be here but as yet I haven't decided what to do with them.  I quite fancy Gnocchi Alla Romana but if I want them I will have to get a move on as the polenta has to...
