Thursday morning

 Good morning all.  It is raining here nothing exciting just wet.

Denzil took both dogs for a long walk yesterday and they both came home knackered and are both happy to stay in bed this morning.  I wonder if dogs get stiff just like us though they never show any such sign. I know when Basso had been working all day the next day he ate twice as much and slept all day.

Yesterday I finished the stag in my embroidery I don’t think I have ever done so much stem stitch and there is plenty more to go.



The legs were pigs to do but I hope they look ok.  I still have acres of stem stitch to do over the remaining design.  The instructions are done by type of stitch hopefully I will move on to the more interesting stitches soon.
Oh and I have been very bad and ordered another which I think will be a real test.


That should keep me out of mischief for a while , those wings are going to have to be perfect or it will look awful and my closed fly stitch is not my best.

    Don't know what's wrong with the machine (or is it me?). I published the comment once, then it disappeared, so I did it again, and now you have the same one twice, Am I going mad?

Friday morning

 Good morning all it’s a frosty cold but sunny day in fact a proper winters day. Tomorrow there will be rugby to watch.  I must admit I haven’t watched any of the Winter Olympics it’s not my thing.  I must admit I have never fancied skiing I can fall over on carpet. My tripe arrives today and I have made the mirepoix ready so just some simmering to do.   I think I might use the slow cooker the hopefully it will be ready for supper. Well my cup is empty and I hear the shower calling so time to get on.  I will be staying in the warm and playing in the kitchen.  Have a good day and stay warm.

Thursday morning

Good morning all well it is raining which is kind of par for the course.  This week has been one to forget as soon a possible.  Yesterday should have been a good day and despite feeling rubbish, I pushed on and got things organised for Shiona's visit.  So you can imagine how delighted I was when she didn't turn up.  She forgot.  So the boys and I had a nice lunch and I then took to my room and watched a lecture by Jordan Peterson which took my mind off my disappointment.  It is reassuring to hear someone of such intellect say that life is hard and nasty.  His latest book "12 rules for life an antidote to chaos" is a book that I have read once and I still pick up and reread the odd chapter when chaos is looming. So today I will be cooking the quails for lunch as the three of us will be here but as yet I haven't decided what to do with them.  I quite fancy Gnocchi Alla Romana but if I want them I will have to get a move on as the polenta has to...
