Wednesday morning

 We are having some problems with the internet I think with so many working from home I think the servers are struggling.  Anyway I have a connection so I will make hay while the sun shines.  Sadly there is no sun just a lot of cloud.

I ran my embroidery up to Tak’s husband to see if he can frame it. I know he is busy so I suggested June next year as a completion time.

I have been demoted to kitchen porter so I get all the veg to prepare. James is enjoying cooking and today he is making cottage pies and cauliflower cheese. One pie to eat today and one for the freezer.  He does make me laugh he is very tired after preparing two meals in one day of course I would have no comprehension of the work involved!

Well the sun has broken through so time to gat some sewing done as I have completed my chores for the kitchen if I am very lucky I might get the washing up something else I know nothing about!

    My connection has been a bit flaky too. A bit up and down like a yoyo at times!

    Of course, you were a working wife and Mother, therefore no idea how hard it is to cook two main courses in one day, having made full use of all the household fairies that did everything for you. Did you remember to mop his brow?

Friday morning

 Good morning all it’s a frosty cold but sunny day in fact a proper winters day. Tomorrow there will be rugby to watch.  I must admit I haven’t watched any of the Winter Olympics it’s not my thing.  I must admit I have never fancied skiing I can fall over on carpet. My tripe arrives today and I have made the mirepoix ready so just some simmering to do.   I think I might use the slow cooker the hopefully it will be ready for supper. Well my cup is empty and I hear the shower calling so time to get on.  I will be staying in the warm and playing in the kitchen.  Have a good day and stay warm.

Thursday morning

Good morning all well it is raining which is kind of par for the course.  This week has been one to forget as soon a possible.  Yesterday should have been a good day and despite feeling rubbish, I pushed on and got things organised for Shiona's visit.  So you can imagine how delighted I was when she didn't turn up.  She forgot.  So the boys and I had a nice lunch and I then took to my room and watched a lecture by Jordan Peterson which took my mind off my disappointment.  It is reassuring to hear someone of such intellect say that life is hard and nasty.  His latest book "12 rules for life an antidote to chaos" is a book that I have read once and I still pick up and reread the odd chapter when chaos is looming. So today I will be cooking the quails for lunch as the three of us will be here but as yet I haven't decided what to do with them.  I quite fancy Gnocchi Alla Romana but if I want them I will have to get a move on as the polenta has to...
