Monday morning

Good morning all sorry to be so late but I have been having a fight with the computer it will not do what it is told.  All I have tried to do is to transfer my contacts list from the main computer to my new phone and do you think it will cooperate no it will not I have tried doing it via Bluetooth airdrop and even email but none of it seems to be working and I am now at the throwing a brick stage.  Just to add insult to injury somehow I have managed to duplicate all the contacts so I will have to go through laboriously and delete them one at a time, what a pain.  I love computers until they go wrong or refuse to do what they are told then I hate them.

James bottled out of his pasta lesson yesterday and we had just dry pasta instead and as we dont want it two days running it has been put on the back burner for some other time.

The weather here is strange it is very dull and overcast but quite warm and muggy.  It feels as though it wants to rain but I don't think it will.

We have some nice fish for lunch today which we will have with some of the copious salad and maybe some nice jersey royals with butter and chives.  A nice light summer meal with the minimum of cooking involved.  

Well, I am going to struggle on with this stupid machine I hate being thwarted by a machine but sadly my knowledge is seriously limited. I have a few niggling issues so I wonder if now is the time to get a computer guy to come and have a look before I throw a brick at it.

    Like Annabeth, I woul get someone in. I hate trying to sort out PC problems myself. Better to throw some money at it rather than a brick!

Friday morning

 Good morning all it’s a frosty cold but sunny day in fact a proper winters day. Tomorrow there will be rugby to watch.  I must admit I haven’t watched any of the Winter Olympics it’s not my thing.  I must admit I have never fancied skiing I can fall over on carpet. My tripe arrives today and I have made the mirepoix ready so just some simmering to do.   I think I might use the slow cooker the hopefully it will be ready for supper. Well my cup is empty and I hear the shower calling so time to get on.  I will be staying in the warm and playing in the kitchen.  Have a good day and stay warm.

Thursday morning

Good morning all well it is raining which is kind of par for the course.  This week has been one to forget as soon a possible.  Yesterday should have been a good day and despite feeling rubbish, I pushed on and got things organised for Shiona's visit.  So you can imagine how delighted I was when she didn't turn up.  She forgot.  So the boys and I had a nice lunch and I then took to my room and watched a lecture by Jordan Peterson which took my mind off my disappointment.  It is reassuring to hear someone of such intellect say that life is hard and nasty.  His latest book "12 rules for life an antidote to chaos" is a book that I have read once and I still pick up and reread the odd chapter when chaos is looming. So today I will be cooking the quails for lunch as the three of us will be here but as yet I haven't decided what to do with them.  I quite fancy Gnocchi Alla Romana but if I want them I will have to get a move on as the polenta has to...
