Thursday morning

Good morning all.  Well who was a lucky girl yesterday?  I have about 2 days of my current embroidery to finish and the new one arrived in the post.  Having a new one is a great incentive to get on and finish the current project because I am now itching to start the new one.  

The weather has been about right for this time of year but somehow it seems worse than usual coming on top of all the other problems.

 James is organising the catering for to day which leaves me free to sew and drink coffee. The place with the best light is my bedroom where I can sit right in front of the window but it only lasts a short time as after midday the sun goes over the roof and I am in shade.  Anyway now you know why I am often so late when I remember to scribble a few words.

I hope Denzil will be making appointments for us to get our flu vaccinations then hopefully it won’t be too long before we get the COVID vaccine.

Well that’s about it for this morning nothing much to say we are just muddling along like everyone else.

    Good luck with the flu vaccine appointment, we had ours done at the local chemist at the end of September, no queuing, just a quick phone call beforehand and they automatically contact our Doctor's surgery afterwards to confirm we had it.

Friday morning

 Good morning all it’s a frosty cold but sunny day in fact a proper winters day. Tomorrow there will be rugby to watch.  I must admit I haven’t watched any of the Winter Olympics it’s not my thing.  I must admit I have never fancied skiing I can fall over on carpet. My tripe arrives today and I have made the mirepoix ready so just some simmering to do.   I think I might use the slow cooker the hopefully it will be ready for supper. Well my cup is empty and I hear the shower calling so time to get on.  I will be staying in the warm and playing in the kitchen.  Have a good day and stay warm.

Thursday morning

Good morning all well it is raining which is kind of par for the course.  This week has been one to forget as soon a possible.  Yesterday should have been a good day and despite feeling rubbish, I pushed on and got things organised for Shiona's visit.  So you can imagine how delighted I was when she didn't turn up.  She forgot.  So the boys and I had a nice lunch and I then took to my room and watched a lecture by Jordan Peterson which took my mind off my disappointment.  It is reassuring to hear someone of such intellect say that life is hard and nasty.  His latest book "12 rules for life an antidote to chaos" is a book that I have read once and I still pick up and reread the odd chapter when chaos is looming. So today I will be cooking the quails for lunch as the three of us will be here but as yet I haven't decided what to do with them.  I quite fancy Gnocchi Alla Romana but if I want them I will have to get a move on as the polenta has to...
