Wednesday morning

 Good morning all, cold and wet here today but not cold enough for snow.  There are odd glimmers of sun trying to break through.

I have another fascinating day planned but at least I am comfortable so for that I am grateful.  It is going to be a very bad winter for lots of folks as the unemployment figures climb. Anyway I may be bored but that is a small price to pay during these hard times.  Let’s hope it will all prove worthwhile and the vaccine works.

So for amusement I shall continue my recap of Star Trek and get some embroidery done. We have a vat of vegetable soup left from yesterday and I have got out some chicken thighs. I’m not quite sure what I am going to do with them yet the options are endless.

Denzil is picking up the prescriptions this afternoon so that relieves me of another chore.

Friday morning

 Good morning all it’s a frosty cold but sunny day in fact a proper winters day. Tomorrow there will be rugby to watch.  I must admit I haven’t watched any of the Winter Olympics it’s not my thing.  I must admit I have never fancied skiing I can fall over on carpet. My tripe arrives today and I have made the mirepoix ready so just some simmering to do.   I think I might use the slow cooker the hopefully it will be ready for supper. Well my cup is empty and I hear the shower calling so time to get on.  I will be staying in the warm and playing in the kitchen.  Have a good day and stay warm.

Thursday morning

Good morning all well it is raining which is kind of par for the course.  This week has been one to forget as soon a possible.  Yesterday should have been a good day and despite feeling rubbish, I pushed on and got things organised for Shiona's visit.  So you can imagine how delighted I was when she didn't turn up.  She forgot.  So the boys and I had a nice lunch and I then took to my room and watched a lecture by Jordan Peterson which took my mind off my disappointment.  It is reassuring to hear someone of such intellect say that life is hard and nasty.  His latest book "12 rules for life an antidote to chaos" is a book that I have read once and I still pick up and reread the odd chapter when chaos is looming. So today I will be cooking the quails for lunch as the three of us will be here but as yet I haven't decided what to do with them.  I quite fancy Gnocchi Alla Romana but if I want them I will have to get a move on as the polenta has to...
